Go-Kart Safety Tips

It’s important to follow all the safety guidelines so that you can thoroughly enjoy the challenge of go-kart racing without worry. Our high-performance go-karts reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour (mph), and safety is the foundation for your thrilling experience. Having fun is nice, but safety is essential. Let’s go over a few simple tips to help you and your competitors stay safe on the track.

5 Tips for Go-Kart Safety

Here are our top five safety tips to help keep you safe when you are go-karting.

1. Do Not Attempt to Bump a Competitor’s Kart

Go-karting is not like bumper cars! Go-karts are high-speed racing vehicles, and it can be very dangerous to bump anything at 40 to 50 mph. Keep some distance between the go-karts while you are racing. Please be considerate of others.

2. Never Stop on the Track

Stopping on the track puts you and others at risk. It could cause a crash if the other karts cannot stop fast enough. If you must stop, please do so safely by pulling off into the pit area.

3. Keep Both Hands on the Wheel

Our go-karts reach high speeds, and there can be some vibrations on the wheel. These vibrations mean you must keep two hands on the wheel so you do not lose control of your kart. You may bring driving gloves to help you keep an even better grip while you speed by your competitors.

4. Tie Your Hair Back

If you have long hair, you must tie it back and tuck it under your helmet to keep it from flying around and causing vision issues or getting caught in the kart. For this reason, please also don’t wear jewelry or very loose clothing.

5. Keep Your Eyes on the Track

Just like driving a real car, it’s critical you keep your eyes in front of your vehicle. You don’t want to drive into another kart or a barrier because you were looking somewhere else. Always stay aware of your surroundings. Looking out in front of you will also help you spot opportunities to overtake your competitors!

Our Safety Measures

Our tracks are indoors, so you never have to worry about the weather causing safety concerns. We require all racers to attend a safety briefing before racing with us. Because go-kart safety gear is essential, we also require everyone to wear a helmet with a visor. We can control the go-karts remotely whenever we need to ensure the safety of our racers. We can slow or stop them at any time. The best go-kart safety equipment and barriers protect our tracks so you can stay safe regardless of the circumstances.
